Popular Fuji musician, Alhaji Abass
Akande fondly called Obesere received an
automobile gift of a Mercedes Benz G-Wagon 2013 edition from
billionaire businessman and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party
in Ogun state, Chief Buruji Kashamu during the week.
Obesere received the automobile
following his remarkable performance at an event initiated by the
country’s first lady, Mrs. Dame Jonathan and held at Buruj
Kashamu’s residential abode in Egbe, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State.
Despite his recent rape scandal, the
top politician was said to have been fascinated by Obesere’s
demeanor and outstanding performance leading to the gift.
While Obesere has decided to keep
tight-lipped on the development, a close source actually confirmed
that the news was accurate. “Yes it is true that Alhaji was given a
car on Sunday. After we finished our show that day, Buruj was
actually delighted about his visit and performance so he gave him a
black WAGON. It really surprised everyone who witnessed the
presentation,” related the source.
Sources said Obesere and Buruj Kasham
had known each other for years, but this was the first time the
artiste will be paying a courtesy visit at home to the political
juggernaut.
At the moment, Obesere is one of the
musicians contracted by the South-West PDP for its campaign in the
region.
