Call it primitive culture, barbaric, anything...you may not be wrong. Years after civilisation wept across the world, the kingdom of Swaziland still lives in the dark ages. Young and pretty damsels in an open display of their boobs is an eyesore. But never mind, it's the people's culture and they are enjoying every bit of the show of boobs. Boobs in different sizes, sharps and water-melon are available for sale in this country that reportedly records the highest cases of HIV/AIDS epidemic in recent times. It could be that some of these damsels are carriers. No knows... But the king has a lot to enjoy....

Norbert Ajaegbu on romance: I initially felt inferior to my wife
“Its easy to fall in love, but it is special to stay in love”.’ This is what Nobert Ajeagbu, Chairman, Lagos State chapter of Film and Video Producers and Marketers Association of Nigeria, FVPMAN,and his wife, Rosemary, seem to be saying, as they relive memories of their journey into marriage. The couple got married about eleven years ago and they are blessed with four kids. The husband spoke first.
How I met my wife
I met my wife at the Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Anambra State, while we were studying accountancy. That was way back in the late 90s. Then we weren’t dating but we got to know more about each other in church. As a result, we became familiar with each other, and during our Youth Service, in Lagos, we started dating. My friend It was a case of getting married to my best friend. When we met, there were some coincidences. We didn’t know we shared the same birthday. It was when she paid me a visit that I told her I was celebrating my birthday and she said she was born on the same day. We also share other attributes; while she’s on the quiet side, I’m not the stubborn type either. We have been married for eleven years now, and we never had any cause to quarrel for one day.
Strength
It lies on our ability to tell ourselves the truth. Like the saying goes, to your friend, you don’t need to give an explanation because he or she will definitely understand you without offering any explanation. But to someone who is not your friend, even when you offer explanation, the person wouldn’t understand. My wife tends to understand everything about me, just as I understand everything about her. We are open to each other.
Attraction
She is a woman of many parts; I saw in her a partner whom I would spent the rest of my life with. Essentially, I love her unique voice, especially when she’s singing. She’s planning to launch her maiden gospel songs in a few weeks from now. Also, her quietness, sense of honesty and carriage were some of the qualities that attracted me to her. Memorable moments
It was the first day, she realised she was pregnant with our first son, Kabiri. That day, nothing else mattered to us. It was one of the happiest days we ever had since we got married. We stayed back home, shunned every engagement for that day to celebrate the pregnancy. Aside this, every other day in our lives have been blessed. I got to realise that I’m someone who is not attached to anybody, not even to my parents. But this time around, I can’t even stay away from my family for one week without being anxious to reunite with them. Just as she can’t exist without me. Every minute of our lives together is very precious.
Accepting proposal
It wasn’t really easy because I had nothing then. When I got to know her, I was thinking that my elder cousin would get married to her. She was always coming to visit me in our house then, though we were not dating. At that time, my cousin, who is now late, was ripe for marriage, but I was not. Then, I was feeling inferior to her because I had nothing. But later, I summoned courage to approach her, and that was when we started dating. On the day I proposed to her, I bought an engagement ring for her with the last Kobo in my pocket. It was about N1,200, which was all my savings. Ironically, on that D-day, she would have turned down my proposal because she thought I was not ready for marriage yet. She told me she was prepared to wait for me even if it would take me another 30 years before to make it in life. I replied her, ‘If you said you would be prepared to wait for me, then accept my engagement ring’. Shortly after that. I had my breakthrough; within one year, I was swimming in wealth. All these things happened in 2001; in 2002, we got married. Memorable courtship
The experience I had during our courtship was encouraging. It was the time we were trying to understand each other. Then, I was coming up with complaints here and there, but she is the type that rarely complains. I like keeping friends and, most times, she would get jealous. But the moment we got married, those things stopped. It was not easy, but at that point, I realised I could not afford to lose her to any other man.
What I cannot do
There is nothing I cannot do for my wife. We are one. It’s just like asking me what I cannot do for myself. I can live my life for her, and I can as well die for her. Except God, I don’t think I have any other idol. What I don’t like It is not as if one is perfect. But one thing I don’t like about her is the fact that she loves staying on her own. She is not a good mixer, I love companionship a lot, gisting and sharing experiences with people. But she’s an introvert.
I can lay down my life for him because I trust him — Wife
Why I fell in love
I fell in love with my husband because of his charming looks, gentle nature and his kind heart. What I cannot do The fact that he is my husband, I will do everything for him. But the only thing I cannot do for him is something that is considered to be ‘sin’ and ‘evil’ before God and man. I trust my husband in such a way that I can lay down my life for him. What kept marriage going The love that we have for each other; the maturity and the openness are some of the ingredients that have kept our marriage going. We share our problems and happiness together. I haven’t hurt my husband even for once since we got married. And I am not prepared to hurt him until death do us apart. What I don’t like I love this man very much that I can’t find anything wrong in whatever he’s doing. I like everything about him.

Desmond Ovbiagele: 'I want to raise the bar in Nollywood'
Ex-banker-turned-filmmaker, Desmond
Ovbiagele whose latest crime drama, “Render to Caesar” is due to
premiere in the cinemas nationwide from March 28, has revealed that
his love for crime stories inspired the production of the big-budget
movie.
According to him, what he tried to do
with “Render to Caesar” which features most of Nigeria’s finest
actors such as Gbenga Akinnagbe, Omoni Oboli, Wale Ojo, Kalu Ikeagwu,
Bimbo Manuel among others was to set a new standard for film making
in Nollywood in terms of acting, scripting, story line and production
values.
“I love crime dramas. At the time, I
wrote the story, there were a lot of crimes being committed in the
streets of Lagos,” he stated.
On casting Omoni Oboli as the lead act,
Ovbiagele said, “She's highly professional on set.”
‘I was looking for a professional in
terms of her approach to work; I have heard a lot of stories about
actors and actresses on set. After my research, I found out that
Omoni is very professional and is somebody who knows her onions.”
Shot on the acclaimed red Epic camera,
“Render to Caesar” is a production of Mighty Man Entertainment.
The movie examines themes of crime and corruption, psychological
trauma, as well as friendship and romance, in a story that chronicles
the journey of two friends who return home from abroad to join a
special programme in the police force as detectives. They are
immediately assigned the daunting mission to hunt and apprehend a
psychotic crime lord wreaking havoc in Africa's most populous city.
Invasion 1897: Benin Crown Prince visits Calabar
Ahead of world premiere of Lanelot Imasuen's big-budget film,”Invasion 1897”to the people
of Benin, the Crown Prince of Benin Kingdom, His Royal Majesty,
Eheneden Eradiauwa has set plans in motion to pay a royal visit to
the area where Oba Ovonramwen Nogbaisi was kept
, and later died while on exile in Calabar.
This latest move, by the Benin Crown
Prince is coming two months after Lancelot gathered friends,
colleagues and the media in Lagos, to mark the centenary of the death
of Oba Ovonramwen on January 14, 2014.
Prince Eheneden Eradiauwa, whose pet
project, Benin Royal Dynasty Trust, has endorsed “Invasion
1897”said, part of the reason he wants to visit Calabar is to meet
with the traditional ruler of the area as well as to implore the
community's dance troupe to accompany him to the United States, where
he has been invited to be the guest speaker at this year's edition of
the annual Arts and Culture Expo/Award, holding in Altanta. The dance
troupe, according to him, will be expected to mount a cultural
display at the 2-day event that will reflect the culture of the area
that played host to Oba Ovonramwen while he was on exile in Calabar.
On the film, the Crown Prince who was
Nigeria's former Ambassador to Italy, Norway said, besides “the
Royal Dynasty Trust, “I will throw my weight behind that kind of
film because it is telling the story of the Benin kingdom from the
perspective that the international community ought to know about.
The trust is endorsing the film.”
Interestingly, “Invasion 1897” will
premiere at the event, which will also showcase the culture heritage
of the Benin kingdom. It would be recalled that last year, the Benin
monarch, Oba Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolopolo Erediauwa 1, endorsed
the film as well as honoured Lancelot Imasuen with the 2013 Oba
Erediauwa Excellence Award. The historical film highlights the
restoration of the looted priceless ancient artifacts of the Benin
kingdom, including the famous commemorative head and pendant of ivory
mask representing Queen Idia (from court of Benin, 16th century) who
was the mother of Esigie, the Oba of Benin who ruled from 1504 to
1550. The commemorative head is at the British Museum, while the
pendant is at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, USA.
Empress Njamah speaks on why she's missing on screen
Nollywood
actress and former squeeze of music star, Timaya,
Empress Njamah, may have been missing on the silver screen in recent
times. But the controversial actress has come out to explain the reason behind her decision to take a break from acting.
Writing
on her facebook page, Empress said, “ A good brand will
always remain fresh even if it went out of circulation for five
years. I don’t believe one needs to do a hundred movies to stay
relevant and fresh in the industry. I know some people who have
featured in many productions but yet do not have that star status. If
you don’t have the star streak, you don’t have it. You can do
just a movie in a year and you will be high up there.
With the level I have attained in the
industry, I don’t think I should be everywhere. That’s the truth.
But we all know that there wasn’t real money to be made in this our
industry, so, one has to really use his or her talent in a very
positive way.
I have a flair for other things and I
am pursuing them. Movie will always be there and I can always fall
back to it. I do it when I can do it. I travel a lot. The name is
still there so I need to do a lot of things because I would
definitely fall back to the movies. You can’t leave the industry
just like that. It’s not possible.”
Obesere set to shoot movie on rape scandal
Eclectic Fuji musician, Alhaji Abass
Akande popularly known as Obesere has completed plans to shoot a
blockbuster movie on rape. The Fuji singer who was recently hit by a
rape scandal is taking the advantage of the situation by turning it
into a film.
According to HVP findings,
Obesere has written a script about rape and is currently shopping for
artistes who will fit into the characters. It is not yet certain if
the famous musician will be starring in the movie, but prominent
artistes are sure to take the lead in the movie. Unconfirmed reports
also have it that a total sum of N20 million has been budgeted for
the project.

to expose men and women who blackmail people with rape scandal and to
picture tricks and methods used by rapists. Explaining further,
Obesere’s publicist, Deola Adeoti added that “the movie is
targeted at unraveling the mystery behind the rape scandal.”
“A whole lot of things have been read
and said about him in the past few weeks, but I think this movie will
tell the world the plain truth.
“Apart from his own experience,
Alhaji Obesere is also aware of some men who had been blackmailed
with this same scandal and he felt that it is high time he exposes
some of these women of evil.”

hitting choice locations for the recording.
Biola Ige still shocked on leaked photo of actor Muna Obiekwe sucking her nipple
The photo that went viral recently showed porn-actor, Muna Obikwe sucking actress Biola Ige's nipple in the name of shooting a movie. Ige who is still shocked in respect of how the photo leaked has managed to put up a defence. Hear her own side of the story.
"I was going to remain silent on the photo being displayed on the internet however I realise that I need to set the record straight for my family, friends and fans who I love and respect.
The photo in question was taking from the set of a movie called "Pregnant Hawkers" in which i played a Hawker who was in a romantic situation with a man (The actor in the photo). This movie was shot and aired two years ago. The photo circulating the internet right now is the photo from a scene in the movie and nothing more. IF you watched the movie you will see that there is nothing to this movie other than the fact that i was playing a role! Continue...
I am an actress, it is a profession that i love and will continue to enjoy. I am required to play all sorts of roles. In each role i step out of being Biola Ige and go straight into 'character'.
Whoever maliciously leaked this photo to make it appear to be something else has simply given me some great publicity! Thank you!
I have been through a lot of difficult things this year with the loss of my mom and a brief illness, that a simple photo from a movie scene from 2 years ago is the least of my worries. I have no further comments regarding this act to hurt my character.
I look forward to acting more movies, and playing more roles to entertain you. Thank you all for reading."

According to the actress, who now bears
the name, Aisha, she converted to Islam because of her late mother.
“No man can make me convert to Islam. I converted to

on. I wouldn't disclose that here. So, I went to Mecca to pray for

MercyJohnson unbanned!
Nollywood star-actress, Mercy
Johnson-Okojie who was banned last year by the movie marketers for
professional misconduct has resumed work again.
The embattled actress resumed work
during the week after resolving her differences with the marketers
cum producers.
Confirming the new development to HVP,
FVPMAN's spokesman, Mr. Norbert Ajaegbu said, “The disagreement
between producers/ marketers and Mercy Johnson finally ends following
the FVPMAN’s national working committee meeting, held on Sunday,
March 9, 2014. Mercy having diligently concluded all the jobs in
dispute leaves us with no choice than to accept her apology.”
“She is one wonderful personality we
would not want to join issues with. She knows when to say sorry. She
has concluded all that we asked her to do. Any insistence on
penalizing her, will then infer prejudice. We have directed our
members to resume all the previous existing relationship with her.
She has fully resumed all location activities without interruption.
We are quite hopeful that circumstances such as the very one that
caused the last disagreement will not repeat itself,” Ajaegbu
disclosed.
Interestingly, since she resumed work
again, insiders hinted that she has gotten not less than twelve scripts
within one week.

Popular Fuji musician, Alhaji Abass
Akande fondly called Obesere received an
automobile gift of a Mercedes Benz G-Wagon 2013 edition from
billionaire businessman and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party

Kashamu’s residential abode in Egbe, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State.
Despite his recent rape scandal, the

demeanor and outstanding performance leading to the gift.
While Obesere has decided to keep
tight-lipped on the development, a close source actually confirmed
that the news was accurate. “Yes it is true that Alhaji was given a

black WAGON. It really surprised everyone who witnessed the

At the moment, Obesere is one of the
musicians contracted by the South-West PDP for its campaign in the
region.

premiere of Emem Isong’s latest movie, Apaye: A Mother’s Love.
The movie starred actors like Clarion Chukwurah, Kanayo O. Kanayo, Belinda Effah, among others. She played Swam, the heroine’s first child and daughter.
In this interview, she talks about her crashed marriage that produced a five-year old daughter, her career, and the movie that relaunched her into the mainstream acting. She also refuted the rumour making the rounds that she’s currently in a fresh relationship, dismissing, any plan to remarry soon.

Would you say the role you played in Emem
Isong’s latest film, “Apaye: A Mother’s Love, ” is your most
challenging role in movies so far?
I played the role of Swam, Apaye’s first child and
daughter, who eventually got pregnant out of wedlock. I don’t think
I would use the word “challenging” because it’s a real
life story. It was more emotional for me than challenging
because one had her own personal struggles and emotions. It was easy
for me to portray that character in the movie. Apaye’s life
was very amiable as well as emotional when she had to raise her six
children amidst abject poverty. It was very easy for me to break into
that person in order to interprete my role.
Apaye: A Mother’s Love, is a moving story of
one woman’s quest to succeed in the face of hostilities.
Inspired by true events, it is the story of Elder Irene Yepayeye
Uriah, born in the creeks of what is now Bayelsa State, who was left
to fend for her six children all alone. She struggled and
toiled to provide for her family and to make sure they enjoyed the
life she never had. Against all odds, she became a woman of
substance in a community that never believed any good could
come from her.
I must appreciate the family of Elder Irene Yepayeye
Uriah for their co-operation while the filming lasted. They
were all simply amazing. They are approachable, personable, and
so humble to a fault. I feel like a lot of people should
emulate lifestyles like theirs. No matter your status, just
keep it real and stay humble. I had amazing and solid bond with
the family. They were fantastic in every sense of it.
Would you relate the story to your own story?
It’s very similar because I am a mother and I have a
child. It’s hard to be a mother as well as a woman. So, Apaye
had to deal with raising six children by herself. I don’t
know how she was able to do it, and I don’t know where she got the
strength to push on and did all that she could do, for her children.
It’s hard, and that’s how I can relate to her story, as a woman
and a mother.
How challenging was it playing the role of Swam?
It was more emotional for me having to play that role.
As a human being, we all have our personal struggles and challenges.
The story captured some part of my life. Apaye had six children and
she single-handedly raised her children. My mum at some point
in her life had to cater for me and my siblings. She faced a lot of
challenges making us what we are today.
How does it feel being part of the production?
It is a breath of fresh air for me because you
don’t do films like this every time in Nollywood. It is
really expensive to pull off something like this. So, for me,
it is refreshing to know we can achieve this great feat.
And the cast?
It was awesome getting to work with my senior
colleagues, Clarion Chukwurah, Kanayo O. Kanayo and others. We
had a great time filming in the creeks of the Niger-Delta. So,
it was a great bonding for us since we were working outside Lagos.
We bonded as a family. We were part of the
community and they will never forget us in a hurry because they made
a lot of impact in our lives. And so did we. That was the
first time Nollywood would be shooting in their community. It
was fun and would remain memorable for us all. The crew was
equally fantastic. Everyone brought in his or her expertise.
From the producer, Emem Isong to the director, Desmond Elliot, I
would say we had a competent crew.
You have been in the industry for a very long time,
yet your face is rarely regular on screen?
I took some time off to have my baby in 2008. Later, I
relocated to the United States, where I worked on one
project or the other. Also, I really don’t do a lot of mainstream
films. For me, it’s okay to feature in two to three films in
a year and I’m satisfied with that. I can have my daughter
watch my films in 10 years from now. That’s what matters to
me, and not how many films I’m able to churn out in a year. For me,
it has to do with quality over quantity.
How long have you sojourned in the industry?
I have spent eleven years in Nollywood.I started my
career after featuring in the much acclaimed movie,’Amazing
Grace.” I also starred in popular films like ‘Black
November’, ‘Mutanda’, ‘Wheel of Change’, ‘Reloaded’,
‘Forgetting June’, ‘Darima’s Dilemma’, among others.
Would you say, “Apaye: The mother’s
love” relaunched you into the mainstream acting?
Yes, I would say so. I have started producing my own
films. I just finished producing my first movie. And very soon,
it would hit the market. You are going to be seeing more of me now
than before. As a matter of fact, I have about three
films that I’m going to release before the end of this month.
Becoming a producer?
I’m used to the ropes, I understand the terrain. I
know how these things are done. I was once married to a film
director, so, I’d understand what film making entails.
You said, you were once married to a film maker?
Yes, once married to a film maker. But not any more.
What really happened?
Am I really going to say that? Life happened.
Were you ever worried by negative stories that
trailed the crash of your marriage?
Never. I tried my best. I might not look strong but I’m
very, very strong. If you are in show business or any business
that put you out there, you have to build a solid, great wall of
China around you. My wall is very tall. I only hear about it,
but I’m not moved one bit. So, I have a huge wall
around my person.
You are still bearing Jeta Amata’s
name?
Yes, does it change anything? It doesn’t.
How you would describe your ex-husband?
Jeta is a great man, fantastic dad but life has to move
on.
If you have the opportunity to star in his film,
would you do so?
Why not? He was my friend before he became my husband.
We had a great relationship. We are connected for life. We have
a child together. If I see him, as often as I could,
it doesn’t change anything.
But you are not feeling the same way you felt when
you met him?
That’s relative!
And you are not in a fresh relationship?
I’m not in a fresh relationship.
Won’t you give marriage another chance?
I don’t really know, but I don’t want to say never.
It is the future, I prefer to live in the now and see how that goes.
But for now, it is about me doing more films, charity and raising my
child. So, that is my priority.
At a time, you were only featuring in Jeta’s
movies. Was there any difference between then and now?
I did work with a lot of producers and directors at a
time. But I featured more in Jeta’s movies. Secondly, I think he
was a fantastic director. He understands his onions. He knew my weak
points and he also knew where he would touch to get the best out of
me as an actor. There are a little difference here and there. But
it’s great that I’m beginning to get the opportunity to work with
more producers and directors than I did in the past.
Did you have any formal training in acting?
Not at all. I was watching an interview session on CNN,
where a Hollywood actor revealed that at some point in his career,
despite the great experience he had in drama and film, he decided to
take up a three years course in acting. Sometimes, we shouldn’t be
too comfortable because we are making a lot of money from what we do.
We should actually make out time to enhance our skills.
What did you study?
I studied History and International Relations. I
had a lot of dreams and career choices but none of them was acting.
Fortunately, I found myself in the acting profession and I’m loving
it.

DNA test proves Michael Jackson fathered love child
A DNA test claims to prove the late ‘Beat It‘ singer is the
biological father of Brandon Howard, a 31-year-old aspiring singer,
prompting speculation he was the boy late pop king, Michael Jackson was
singing about in his 1982 hit ‘Billie Jean’.
Brandon is the son of Miki Howard, a gospel singer who toured with Michael and was represented by his father, Joe Jackson, in the 80s.
Beverly Hills dental surgeon Dr. Joseph Goodman claims he procured a sample of the star’s DNA from a dental device bought at auction.
Briefing the press to announce the results during the week, Dr. Goodman opened the results envelope and declared it said there was a ’99.9 percent probability’ Michael is the father.
The doctor said: ‘I think we have the proof.‘
Brandon – who goes by the name B. Howard – has addressed both the test results and rumours he was to go Michael’s estate for money in a video posted on his Facebook page.
He said: ‘Number one, I did not call [website] TMZ or anything like that. Didn’t put out a story, nothing. Number two, I’ve never ‘self-proclaimed’ to be Michael Jackson’s son.
‘Number three, I’m definitely not suing the estate. I’ve been taken care of very well. Number four, it is true I did do a DNA test but it had nothing to do with any of this.‘
Michael was father to three children, Prince Michael, 16, Paris, 15, and Blanket, 11 until his untimely death in 2009.
A lawyer for Michael’s estate, Howard Weitzman, told TMZ.com: ‘We’ve never even heard from him … Any deadline for claiming to be Michael’s child has long since passed.‘
Another man, Augie Johnson, has also claimed he is the biological father of Brandon and agreed to a DNA test.

ENUGU —
The pan-Igbo socio-cultural organisation, yesterday, demanded from the
Federal Government N2.4 trillion as reparation and compensation to Ndigbo
in the five South East states and Anioma in Delta State, who lost their
loved ones and property during the civil war as well as those still
suffering dislocation and seizure of property in the country.
It also asked the Federal Government to tender a “State Apology for the wrongs the government and people of Nigeria visited on Ndigbo and Igboland” in the past.
These demands were contained in a statement entitled, ‘The Atrocities and Injustice Against Ndigbo and Ohanaeze Ndigbo: Demand for Reparation,’ issued by the Chairman, Ohanaeze Reparation Committee, Chief Mbazulike Amechi in Enugu.
He recalled that the apex Igbo organistion had on May 25, 2013 at its Imeobi meeting, which is the supreme executive organ of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, resolved that ‘enough was enough’ and that Ndigbo should now demand reparation and compensation and a final stop to the persecution of Ndigbo in their own country.
He said the committee, which he chaired, had taken the pains to document some of the atrocities, injustice and deprivation visited on Ndigbo and resolved to demand that the Federal Government should in addition to tendering a state apology, pay a token of N400 billion to each of the five states of Igboland as compensation for the incalculable damage done to the Igbo race.
According to him: “It is incalculable to put a price on the death of millions of Igbo who were killed in the civil war and on other occasions.
“However the Federal Government should pay a token of N400 billion to each of the five states of Igboland as compensation to those who lost their loved ones, lost property and those still suffering dislocation and seizure of property.
“The same amount should be paid to the government of Delta State for the benefit of Anioma area of the state,” Amechi said.
The elder-statesman, who was flanked by members of his committee, including Chief Ralph Obioha, Professor Uche Azikiwe, Dr. Chukwujama, Col. Ben Gbulie (rtd); Chief Maria Okwor, Prof. Paul Modum and other leaders of Ohanaeze, at the briefing, listed some of the chilling atrocities against Ndigbo as follows:
“On March 31, 1953, Tony Enahoro moved a motion in the House of Representatives asking for independence for Nigeria.
“Northern members of the House under the leadership of Sir Ahmadu Bello (Sardauna of Sokoto) vehemently opposed the motion and threatened to break away from the federation.
“Shortly after that, S.L. Akintola went to Kano and in trying to explain the case for independence, said something which Northerners did not like. Their youths took up weapons and massively killed Igbos in such big towns as Kano, Kaduna, Zaria, etc; and destroyed and looted their property.
“It was known that over 300 Igbo were killed, but official figures released by the government only admitted that “36 people killed and 227 wounded.”
“In January 1966 some officers in the Nigerian Army organised a coup d’etat and overthrew the government of nationalists and founding fathers of the federation.
“A carefully planned pogrom and genocide was unleashed on the Igbo mainly in the North. On May 29, 1966 they commenced what they termed “ARABA” test riots. With the help of the police, Northern youths embarked on a supervised bloody ‘riot’ which lasted for seven agonising days in which hundreds of Igbo were killed all over the North and their property destroyed or looted.
“On July 29, 1966, in what was termed “Counter Revolution and Ethnic Cleansing” which began with the killing of Major Gen. Aguiyi Ironsi and over 300 military officers and men of Igbo origin escalated into the massacre of unsuspecting Igbo civilians, men, women and children in many Northern towns on a scale unprecedented in any part of the world even more gruesome than the killings of the Jews in Hitler’s Ger

Obsere's rape scandal is conspiracy, says publicist
The publicist to Fuji star, Abass Akande Obsere who was accused of
raping a 29-year old business woman, Miss Olanike Olaiya, Deola
Adeoti has described the allegation as a grand conspiracy to tarnish
the image of his client.
Reacting to the arrest cum
release of his client by the State Criminal Investigation
Department, Yaba, Lagos, during the week, Adeoti said, given
Obesere's status as a music star with a lot of female fans, he
couldn't have committed the crime, he was accused of.
According to him, “Obesere came in
contact with this girl, Miss Olanike Olaiya, on February 5, 2014 in
Ibadan through his old friend, Bola Okoro for an ongoing business
project tagged ‘Obesere Rice.’ She is supposed to be one of
beneficiaries of the project as a marketer.”
Continuing, he said, “During their
business discussion, she came to Obesere’s Lagos residence in Okota
on February 10, 2014. Obviously, an intimate relationship between two
consenting adult had developed between them. Awed by Obesere’s
famous celebrity image, she was all over him, entering every nook and
crannies of his house like the woman of the house, and even offering
to do the cooking, and making several advances for a romantic
relationship with the Fuji star. One thing led to the other, and she
offered to stay the night in the cozy environment.”
“After having a swell time, she
departed the following day with smiles. But to Obesere’s utter
surprise, he got an invitation from the Isolo Police Division that a
girl who departed happily from his house has reported him for rape
four days after her departure. To him, it was a laughable mater.”
'Obesere’s rape scandal is a grand
conspiracy.”
Obesere was arrested last Wednesday but
was later released on bail. On Monday, he was arrested again after a
medical examination revealed Olanike was raped. The Fuji star claims
they are lovers and had sexual intercourse when she visited him.
Meanwhile, narrating her ordeal,
Olanike insisted that Obsere raped me and afterwards inserted a ring
he wore into my private part and I started bleeding. “He hurriedly
left me in the room saying he had an appointment to fulfil.I could
not bear the trauma and the bleeding and I reported the matter to the
police,” Olanike said.
Popular
Fuji musician, Alhaji Abass Akande, popularly known as Obesere, has
been arrested by the Police in Lagos State for allegedly raping a
29-year-old business woman, Miss Olanike Olaiya in his Okota residence,
Lagos.
The victim, who took the matter to the Police, also narrated her ordeal in the hands of the musician whose shows generally fascinate society women.
According to Olaiya, a National Diploma graduate of business administration from Ibadan Polytechnic, “I got to know Obesere through one of my friends, Mrs Bola Okoro. She told me that Obesere would assist me in my business.
“I deal in office equipment and when I contacted Obesere, he asked me to meet him in his family house at Okota. When I met him, I introduced my business to him and he promised to connect me to some of his friends in Dubai who would sell goods to me on credit.
“After the discussion, he started demanding for sex and I refused and when I wanted to leave, he insisted I should sleep over in his house because it was late and he claimed that it was dangerous to go out late in the night in his area.
“I thought he was a responsible man and I decided to sleep over, but at the dead of the night, he came into the room where I slept and pounced on me.
“He raped me and afterwards inserted a ring he wore into my private part and I started bleeding. He hurriedly left me in the room saying he had an appointment to fulfil.
“I could not bear the trauma and the bleeding and I reported the matter to the police.”
Vanguard gathered that Obesere was first arrested last Wednesday by the Police at Isolo Police Division, where Olaiya reported the matter. He was subsequently released on administrative bail.
He was later re-arrested on Monday, when medical examination conducted on Olaiya revealed that she was actually raped and the Divisional Police Officer, Isolo, Adamu Ibrahim, was said to have ordered the transfer of the matter to State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Panti, Yaba, for further investigation.
Sources disclosed that Obesere’s arrest was made possible through a warrant of arrest issued by the Chief Magistrate of Isolo Magistrate Court, Mrs Kike Bukola Ayeye, as he had declined to honour several police invitations sent to his house at Johnson Famiye Street, Canal Estate, Ago, Okota.
