Last weekend, ace comedian cum radio
station operator, Uche Ogbuagu got decorated with yet another award
in faraway London.
This time, the Akabo-Ikeduru born
entertainer was nominated and recognized for propagating and
promoting African culture through entertainment.
The well publicized award night held at
the 4, 000 capacity Oasis Banqueting Hall Barking London, and it
attracted successful artistes, eminent personalities from Africa,
Caribbean and Wales.
It would be recalled that Uche Ogbuagu,
otherwise known as Mr. Talkinson was last year licensed by the NBC to
operate a full-fledged commercial Radio station in Imo state.
Today, and according to sources, the
station known as, MyRadio FM, 100.9 in Owerri has started operations,
thus ranking Uche Ogbuagu the first Nigerian artiste to own a radio
station, alongside great artistes like Papa Wemba, Yousuf Ndour and
Hugh Masakela, all who are African entertainers who have changed the
rhythm from building joints, brothels to setting up Radio stations.
