Amber Rose staying true to her cellulite

Model and Wiz Khalifa’s ex Amber Rose is not known for being low-key. The outspoken beauty stepped out with best friend Blac Chyna and a host of celebs including Jeremy Renner, Martha Stewart, Jason Derulo, and Mindy Kaling — at party in Cannes thrown by the Daily Mail yesterday. She shared a few thoughts about staying body positive with the publication.
“As women, we all get very self-conscious of our stretch marks and our cellulite and stuff like that, but as long as you know that every single woman in the world has it, you kind of just feel like, ‘Hey, let me just embrace it; this is who we are,’” Rose said.
This is not the first time the mom of one has spoken about how important it is to love and accept yourself. “I like to break people’s balls; that’s fun for me. So when I wear a fishnet dress, I do that on purpose because that’s like a middle finger to everybody,” Rose told Yahoo Style late last year. “It’s like, I’m a mom, I’m a businesswoman, I’m super smart, I’ve travelled. I know exactly what I’m talking about and I don’t care what you have to say. So I’m going to do certain things like that just because I can and it makes me happy.”

Why David Cameron resigned as British Prime Minister

David Cameron today paid the price for his failure to secure Britain’s future in the European Union announcing his resignation and admitting the country now needed “fresh leadership”.
Flanked by his wife and at one stage close to tears Mr Cameron said, it would be wrong for him “to be the captain that steers our country to its next destination".
He announced that he would stay on in a caretaker capacity but expected a new leader to be in place by the time of the Conservative Party conference.
The Independent reported that Cameron decision fired the starting gun on a Tory Party leadership contest with Boris Johnson and the Home Secretary Theresa May as the early front runners to succeed him.
However, it is likely to lead for calls for fresh general election to give voters a direct say on the team that will lead the Brexit negotiations.
Importantly Mr Cameron said he would not invoke Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty that will start the process of Brexit – leaving that decision to his successor.
Speaking outside Downing Street Mr Cameron praised the remain supporters but said he respected the will of the British people.

Read the Prime Minister's resignation speech

“We should be proud of the fact that in these islands we trust the people for these big decisions,”
“We not only have a parliamentary democracy, but on questions about the arrangements for how we've governed there are times when it is right to ask the people themselves and that is what we have done.”
“The will of the British people is an instruction that must be delivered.”
Addressing his own future Mr Cameron said he did not believe he was the right person to lead Britain exit negotiations with the European Union.
“We must now prepare for a negotiation with the European Union. Above all this will require strong, determined and committed leadership,” he said.
“I think the country requires fresh leadership to take it in this direction.
Tributes paid to Prime Minister as he resigns following Brexit result
“I will do everything I can as Prime Minister to steady the ship over the coming weeks and months but I do not think it would be right for me to try to be the captain that steers our country to its next destination.”
Hinting at his deep disappointment with the result Mr Cameron insisted he had no regrets about the campaign he had led.
“I fought this campaign in the only way I know how, which is to say directly and passionately what I think and feel - head, heart and soul,” he said.
“I held nothing back, I was absolutely clear about my belief that Britain is stronger, safer and better off inside the European Union and I made clear the referendum was about this and this alone - not the future of any single politician including myself.
“But the British people have made a very clear decision to take a different path.”

...As Ben Bruce risk losing Silverbird cinemas and other assets to AMCON

There are indications that politician and entertainment investor, Senator Ben Murray-Bruce and his brothers, Guy Murray-Bruce, Michael Murray-Bruce, and Roy Murray-Bruce may stand the risk of losing their investments to Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) if urgent steps are not taken to resolve the new development. AMCON today, June 23rd, took over the Silverbird Galleria, Victoria Island, Lagos as well as other assets of three companies belonging to the politician.
According to reports, the assets are being seized following the failure of Murray-Bruce and his brothers to settle an N11 billion loan owed Union Bank and acquired by AMCON. His son, Jonathan Murray-Bruce is also listed as a defendant in the default suit.
It’s also reported that between 2005 and 2007, the Bruce brothers had used their companies to borrow various sums of money from Union Bank. After they repeatedly defaulted in paying back, AMCON purchased the loan in 2011 to save the bank from collapsing.

OAP, CJ Mama marks 44th birthday in style

When sex took over Nollywood

You may scream! Close your eyes or better still startled as sex takes over Nollywood. In a new movie, A Night With A Star, it wasn't really a big deal exposing the ills happening in the make-believe industry through the producers and directors. Particularly, this movie brings to limelight to what most female celebrities do with fame.
To the very things most females do just to be on screen, on watching this movie, it may drive you to suicide.
What one could not really drive to is if Nigerians are now having raw sex on camera, in the name of Nollywood, and our young girls are so helpless that they can do anything just to be on the screen
On most movies, one may doubt if they still have a censor board that check through these movies, and a regulatory body that checkmate the activities of these upcoming producers and directors that are destroying Nollywood.

My critics are worst than me – Iheme Nancy

Weeks after photos of Nollywood burgeoning actress, Iheme Nancy otherwise known as Paragon Beauty went viral online, the delectable actress has come after her critics in a comment where she placed them as being worst than what she simply displayed through the photo.
To mark her birthday, Paragon Beauty released slaying photos of herself, and it ended up having a trend online with so much criticism and admiration from her fans and followers.
Since the release of those sexy and stunning photos, tongue let loose to do what it is known best for, wagging, even while the weird actress then issued a “send-nobody” statement and reaction to it all.
Describing the comments made by her critics as an empty rant of “a pot calling kettle black,” she went further to urge the

AGN crisis: Ibinabo's loyalist blasts Steve Eboh's caretaker c'ttee

The National Secretary of the Actors Guild of Nigera, AGN,  under Ibinabo Fiberesima's leadership, Abubakar Yakub has disowned the recently set up caretaker committee by a group better known as AGN stakeholders, insisting that Ibinabo is still the incumbent president of the guild.
After a recent congress in Awka, the Anambra State capital, which held last week, the concerned stakeholders appointed, actor Steve Eboh as Chairman of the guild’s caretaker committee with notable actors members. They are Hakeem Rhaman(Vice Chair man), Renell Badejo(Secretary), Bob Emmanuel Udokwu(Adviser), Ochendo Mc Smith(PRO), Rita Tony Edochie(Member), Ernest Obi(Member), Vitalis Ndubisi(Member), Zenith Abubarka(Mem ber), Rita Daniels(Member) and Edith Irabor(member). The caretaker committee is to supervise the affairs of the troubled guild and conduct fresh elections within three month
But in a statement, he sent to HVP, Yakub said, the National Executive Committee of AGN received the news of setting up a Caretaker Committee to take over the Guild as a shock, following the fact that no group or stakeholders approached the guild's NEC on the said meeting.
“Also our State Executive Committees were not aware of the purported meeting. Much as we would not like to respond to the resolution of the said stakeholders meeting which looks like a child's play to us, we need to set the records straight for avoidance of doubt by our teeming members and the general public,” he added.
Yakub maintained that Ibinabo remains the only elected President of AGN. “The matter between St. Maradona Mclive Johnson and AGN which judgement was pronounced by the Justice T.S Tshoho of the Federal High Court Lagos on March 16, March 2015 is a subject of appeal at the Federal Court of Appeal Lagos, no: Ca/l/498/16. Until final judgement is given by the Supreme Court, if it takes us there, it will ever remain like that. Examples abound of how state Governors were sacked by tribunals and even appeal courts but were never removed from office until Supreme Court gives it's final judgment. Our States' Executive Committees were not aware of the meeting including over 85% of State Chairmen across the country so the Chairmen that attended the said meeting did so on their individual capacity and not on behalf of their State AGN Chapters.”
“The National and States' Executive Committees as well as committed members are not deterred, in the face of all these provocations coming from one particular section of the Actors Guild of Nigeria. The National President is not also moved by all these distractions as she remains focused and committed to the welfare and well being of our members.”
“She cannot be cowed out of office. We have respect for the rule of law and shall abide by the legal and constitutional process in order to entrench a lasting peace in our noble Guild. We urged our members to equally disregard the so called resolution which is aimed at satisfying the inordinate ambitions of disgruntled few in the Guild.”

I don't watch my husband's movies because I am jealous —Ugezu's wife

Nollywood director cum actor, Ugezu Jideofor Ugezu, aka Mr Surplus, is more known as a grandmaster in the occult world as portrayed in his movies. But besides his make-believe roles in movies, he’s the best thing that ever happened to his wife, Peace. In their 10 years of marriage, the couple have come to understand that they cannot live without each other. In this encounter, Ugezu reveals how he would have married his ex-girlfriend if she didn’t travel outside the country, just as the wife explains why she fell in love with him.

How I met my husband
I met him in their house. One of my sisters is married to his brother. So, I used to visit their house most times and that's how I met him. In the process, we started talking and the rest is history. But I wasn't surprised when he approached me because I have known him for a long time. We were friends until he made his intentions known to me.

His financial status
At the time he met me, he was comfortable. And I wasn't complaining.

Dating
We dated for a year before he proposed to me. He met in 2005 and got married in 2006.

How he proposed to me
He didn't really propose to me. He came to my house one day and told my parents that he wants to marry me. We didn't discuss it, even though I knew that our relationship wasn't ordinary. However, if he didn't propose to me after dating me, I would still be happy for him. Though it hurts, I would forget him and move on with my life.

Would I have married him as a poor man
Of course, I would have married him. Right from time, I like huge men. So, I like him the way he is. It's not about anything.

What has changed about him
We are improving now,but nothing has really changed. It's just that before we got married, he was always on his own. He doesn't like talking too much, and most times, he would be busy clutching his phone or working on his laptop. But these days, he has really changed. He would come back from a movie set and start recounting his experiences to me. It wasn't so at the early stage of our marriage. Then I was always having this feeling of boredom and loneliness.

My husband cheating on me
Every woman would feel that her partner who is in the business of meeting beautiful women on a daily basis would cheat on her. But since that's his profession, there is nothing I can do about it.

Hanging out with him
He's not that kind of man. He prefers to hangout alone, while he gives me money to take my kids out. I don't have a problem with that. Once he gives me money, I'm off with my kids. But once in a blue moon, he'd take me out. For me, it's not an issue in marriage.

Avoiding divorce
Everything depends on the woman. There are things you can overlook just to make your marriage succeed. But if you don't want to overlook certain things, that's where the problem begins.

Precious gift from him
He bought me a car. Honestly, I don't need anything more than being happy with my man. If I'm happy, I don't need anything from anybody.

What can come between us
Absolutely, nothing can come between us. I don't get close to his phones. I'm just okay with him. There is nothing I cannot do for him. I can donate one of my kidney to save his life if there is need for me to do so. That's the extent I can go for him in marriage.

How I describe my husband
He's the best gift that God has ever given to me. Besides being a good husband, he's also a good father to his kids.

Watching my husband's films
I don't watch Nigerian films. I prefer watching my Telemundo to our local films. This is because I don't want anything that will make me become jealous or give me sleepless nights. Sometimes, my husband would come home and start showing me some things on his laptop, and I wouldn't be interested in watching those things because I don't want anything to come between my
husband and I.

Girlfriend nearly stopped me from marrying my wife—Ugezu, Nollywood actor

How we met
I met her in my village, Aguleri, Anambra State. She’s a sister to my elder brother’s wife. She was always visiting our village whenever she was on holidays. She was a student at University of Nigeria, Nsukka then. I saw her and developed interest in her.

Love at first sight
I don’t want to identify myself with this thing they call love, because ‘love ‘ is a word that has a lot of complexities. But you will know when you see a woman that you can spend the rest of your life with. Love is a thing that evolves with time. What convinced me I had been observing her for some time before I finally made up my mind to marry her. She was surprised when I proposed to her because she wasn’t expecting it. Each time I came home from Lagos, she would come around and I was always observing her behaviour.

Dating I didn’t date her.
We exchanged telephone numbers and began to talk on phone. But there was nothing like intimate relationship between us. That was why she was surprised when I told her I was going to marry her. I didn’t give her the impression that I was going to spend the rest of my life with her.

Don’t believe in relationship
Before I met her, I was into a lot of relationships. I had a girlfriend in Zaria. I was planning to marry her before she won visa lottery and relocated to America. I lost contact with her and that was what prevented me from marrying her. I was in a relationship and I was thinking of settling down with her before she travelled out of the country.

Finding a wife in Nollywood
If I was not married before now, I would have definitely married an actress. But the issue is that I was already thinking of settling down before I was invited by one of the foremost directors, Mac Collins Chidubem, aka China, to come and write a screenplay for him. After writing that script, I never went back to my car dealing business in Lagos. I didn’t plan to be part of Nollywood from the outset.

Sex before marriage
If I had the opportunity, why not? Am I not a man? I am not a monk. However, the opportunity didn’t present itself, but eventually, it happened.

Fear of losing him to Nollywood actresses
Definitely, she will entertain fear of losing her husband to other women. But you will always tell that there is a great different between appearance and reality. In the course of our job, most of these actresses see us as being part of them. Sometimes, an A-list actress would call me on the telephone when I am with her, and she would engage me in all kinds of discussions. My wife would be listening to our discussion. But it doesn’t change the fact that she is still the wife. And she knows that no matter what happens, I belong to her.

O’jez fans’ night pays tribute to Keshi, Amodu, celebrates Nwosu, Orumen

This month's O’jez Soccer Fans Nite Out which  holds on Saturday, June 25, at the open air section of O’jez celebrity restaurant, National Stadium Complex, Surulere, Lagos, will be dedicated to two fallen national soccer heroes; both former coaches of the Nigerian Super Eagles, Stephen Keshi and Shaibu Amodu, the organizers have said.
The former Super Eagles coaches passed on untimely earlier this month within three days interval. Keshi, however, was also former captain of the Eagles and his long playing career witnessed a string of successes in the nation’s national team side.
The O’jez Soccer Fans Nite, a night of music, comedy, awards and dance is designed to create a platform for brands to have a one on one contact with soccer fans, showcase the activities of the Nigeria Premier League, international football as well as promote peace, love and unity among Nigerian soccer fans. It is a forum designed also to appreciate, honour and celebrate Nigerian ex-internationals, active ones, sports media personalities, corporate firms and entertainers for their contributions to the growth and development of football and entertainment in Nigeria. The maiden edition attracted a crowd of over 1, 000 people.
The maiden edition held last month was dedicated to former Super Eagles goalkeeper and captain Peter Rufai (Dodo Mayana), Mumuni Alao, sports journalist and Group MD, Complete Communications as well as renowned comedian Gbenga Adeyinka who all received the O’jez Lifetime Achievements Award.
Even in the middle of mourning two great coaches of the Eagles, the organisers will also present the O’jez Lifetime Achievements Awards to former striker of the Super Eagles, Henry Nwosu as well as veteran sports journalist and marketer, Mr. Dudu Orumen.
Veteran sports journalist, Mr. Effiong Uyo, one of the coordinators of the monthly event said the choice of Nwosu and Orumen was a perfect one “just like last month’s combination of Peter Rufai, Mumuni Alao and Gbenga Adeyinka. I must say that last month’s event which was the maiden edition was a huge success not only in the area of attendance alone but with the quality of the show. We will however improve on that success this month and in consequent editions.”
He described the sudden deaths of Keshi and Amodu as a big blow to “not only Nigerian football but Africa in general. We just witnessed the sudden demise of an era in football coaching and this should make any football loving Nigerian sad. However, we are not God, so we cannot question His decision to take from us two rare gems. But as humans, we will and must continue to celebrate them even in death. That is why the May 25 show is dedicated to the duo.”

Inside story of 2016 AMAA

The 12th edition of the African Movie Academy Award,AMAA, has come and gone, but there were some exciting, yet ugly moments that those who attended the glamorous awards night, which held in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, last Saturday, will not forget in a hurry. This is the inside story of 2016 AMAA.

Pete Edochie, RMD  drama on
AMAA stage
One of the memorable moments of the awards night was when veteran actor Pete Edochie mounted the stage to present the Lifetime Achievement award to RMD. Dressed in his royal regalia, Pete was the cynosure of all eyes at the event. Thunderous ovation greeted the veteran actor, as he climbed the stage gracefully to present the award to RMD. While presenting the award, Pete forgot that he was on stage. In a scene that looked like a movie script, the bearded actor excitedly hugged RMD and quickly had a traditional handshake with him. Making a short speech, the Ebubedike himself urged the Minster of Information and Culture , Alhaji Lai Mohammad to ensure the inclusion of history in our school curricula. On his own, Richard Mofe Damijo who recently staged a comeback to his first love- acting after serving as a two-time Commissioner for Tourism and Culture in Delta State was in high spirit at the show. The ace- actor was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement award alongside Olu Jacobs, his wife, Joke Silva and Tony Akposhore. Looking dapper in his black suit, RMD was the bridegroom of the night. In his acceptance speech, he paid a special tribute to late movie producer, Amaka Igwe and later dedicated the award to ‘every child that is born in an unknown street in Warri.’ RMD reflects on his 33 years as a professional actor and how humble he feels to receive a lifetime achievement award. “So in just 33 years as a ‘pro-actor’ I get a lifetime achievement award. I am humbled, thrilled and super-grateful. I want to thank all my directors, producers, teachers and colleagues. I want to particularly acknowledge Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan, Dr Mike Adenuga, my fans who continue to authenticate me, my wife who is my solid rock and safe place, the mother of my children and my hero, and everyone that has made it with me on this incredible journey.
‘It was an amazing night and who is better to be on hand to do it for me than Ebubedike himself, the lion, Pete Edochie. I was also blessed to be in the distinguished company of 2 of my favourite people who are not just actors to me, Mr. and Mrs. Olu Jacobs.

How Daniel K Daniel lost his phone on the red carpet
Vibrant actor and model, Daniel Kanayo Daniel, who won the award for Best Actor in a leading role for his performance in the movie, “ Soldiers Story” had a very bad experience at the awards night. The handsome actor who is best known for his portrayal of the heroic, yet antagonistic Oviawe in the Amstel Malta Box office, lost his cell phone while walking the red carpet. He was spotted being crowded by paparazzi, TV presenters and admirers who wanted to have a shot with him. And before he knew what was happening, his cell phone suddenly disappeared into thin air. Though it was a bad experience for him, Daniel took solace in his award as the Best Actor in Africa.

Light outs, poor outing for Mike Ezuruonye, Lilokoe
Besides the high moments of the night, there were also a few hitches here and there. The event was punctuated with protracted light-outs, uninspiring hosts and poor live transmission. For 15 minutes, the expansive auditorium was thrown into darkness. The generating set, which was supplying power to the auditorium suddenly went off, throwing the whole place into darkness. The awards night was brought to a halt, until Five-Star music duo, Kcee and Harrysong, came on stage to salvage the situation.
Even at that, the show hosts, Mike Ezuruonye, and his South African counterpart, Kgopedi Lilokoe, were so flat and boring on stage. To many, the duo were the wrong stars to host the show. It was so bad that at a point, many started leaving the auditorium preferring to catch their fun on the red carpet. But apart from these shortcomings, the show was a great outing for Nollywood and indeed, African film makers and stars.

Doris Simon bounced!

You may find this funny, but a mild drama ensued while on board Air Peace back to Lagos from Port Harcourt. Many of the celebrities had occupied the first class seats since it was a free seating arrangement. But unfortunately for them, while they were dreaming of flying first class for the first time, the unexpected happened. The air hostesses cut their dreams short by chasing them away from the seats.
